Listening Rules
Listening rules automatically monitor social media for mentions of your brand, products, or competitors. Set up rules to scan posts from creators on LinkedIn, YouTube, and Twitter/X, then receive notifications when mentions are detected.
Monitor brand advocates, track competitor mentions, or measure campaign impact across social platforms.
Creating a Listening Rule
- Navigate to Brand Monitoring in the main menu
- Click Create Rule
- Configure your rule:
- Rule name — Descriptive name for the rule
- Products to monitor — Select products to track
- Excluded products — Filter out competitor products
- Creator list — Choose which creators to monitor

- Posts to analyze — Number of posts per creator (10-50)
- Schedule — One-time or recurring (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Review estimated credit cost
- Click Create & Run
Listening rules cost 1 credit per 2 posts analyzed. Analyzing 20 posts from 10 creators costs 100 credits.

- Positive — Praised or recommended
- Neutral — Mentioned without opinion
- Negative — Criticized or raised concerns
Accuracy
AI analyzes content to detect mentions. False positives may occur when product names match common words or competitor products are mentioned together.
Use Excluded products to filter mentions of similar products.
Troubleshooting
Rule shows "Failed" status
Failures occur when creators have private profiles, deleted accounts, or blocked access. Click the failed rule to view error details.
No mentions found
Normal when creators haven't mentioned your products in the timeframe. Expand your date range or add more creators.
Rule stuck on "Processing"
Rules typically complete in 5 minutes. Rules stuck for over 2 hours are automatically cancelled. Retry with fewer posts or creators.
Can I monitor creators not in my database?
No, listening rules only work with creators in your creator lists. Add new creators via Creator Discovery first.
Credits deducted but no mentions
Credits charge for analyzing posts, not finding mentions. Zero mentions means the content was analyzed but no matches were found.
